By Derrick Bryson Taylor and Johnny Diaz It will take days just for utility crews to determine the extent of the storm damage to the New Orleans power grid, and far longer to restore power to the region, officials of Entergy Louisiana said on Monday. "We have a lot of rebuilding ahead of us," the company said on Twitter. Blair and the Morgan City Police Department want to update all of the citizens on the current situation. There are various power outages throughout the City of Morgan City. Crews have been out since day light assessing the damage to power lines so repairs can be made to restore power to the city. Cell service for AT&T and Verizon is down. Due to these outages there is no cell service in our area. If you have WIFI at your house you may be able to restore communications. Weather conditions are Sunny with some winds in our area. If you evacuated and you are planning to travel home to Morgan City be prepared to be without power. Although the goal is for the city crews to restore power today it is going to take time to fix everything.
