The proposed utility corridor relocation will be conducted on Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge. Comments are being sought on the benefits and impacts from amending the existing utility right-of-way. An investigation by the consumer protection division in the Colorado Department of Law uncovered evidence dating back to 2014 that CenturyLink unfairly and deceptively charged hidden fees, falsely advertised guaranteed locked prices, and failed to provide discounts and refunds it promised to consumers who signed up for internet, television, and telephone services in Colorado. As part of a settlement with the state, CenturyLink refunded $1.7 million directly to consumers for overbilling errors before March 31, 2020. https://coag.gov/press-releases/7-29-21/

It illustrates the difficulties that reporters like me run into while trying to find newsworthly stories about the well-known names: most of their "bad" news is officiailly reported under the less well known names of their subsidiaries. - Bill Horne ******************************************************************* Telecommunications Companies Reporting to the SCC as of 1/1/2021 https://scc.virginia.gov/getattachment/c8592fe2-7bb7-4b23-a8ea-3014453ad242/2021-Telecom-list-for-website.pdf
