"We're very comfortable to make that commitment to &elip; continued participation in Lifeline for the next three years in any geography where TracFone provides Lifeline services today," Ronan Dunne, Verizon's chief of consumer services, said in an interview Thursday. The carrier will also provide ultrafast fifth-generation, or 5G, service to Lifeline customers within six months of the deal's closing, he added. https://www.wsj.com/articles/verizon-offers-low-cost-service-commitment-to-seal-tracfone-deal-11625171554

Does this do much good? jt -- jt@jt-mj.net Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. - Martin Luther King, Jr. ***** Moderator's Note ***** "Does it do much good?" That's a good question. The STIR/SHAKEN name of this miracle cure is an obvious reference to Ian Fleming's mythical superspy James Bond, who ordered his martinis "Shaken and not stirred," and for that reason I suspect that the Friendly Candy Company knows it's only a theoretical solution that either doesn't work at all, or which can be easily bypassed.
