Wireless carrier Verizon recently announced it acquired Senion, a location-responsive solutions provider. Senion, which developed an indoor positioning platform, uses advanced machine learning sensor fusion technology to bring sub-meter accuracy for precise positioning and indoor space navigation. The acquisition will allow Verizon to expand its location-based technology offerings and let commercial real estate owners and companies better and more safely manage their spaces. Services such as indoor wayfinding and geofencing, location sharing, analytics and predictive intelligence will all see a boost from this acquisition. https://connectedremag.com/das-in-building-wireless/wireless/verizon-acquires-precise-positioning-company-senion/ ***** Moderator's Note ***** Have you taken a shine to the new girl in Accounting? Your second-liner will see fit to mention that the new girl is dating the son of a Vice-President, and ask why you're bothering her so much. That time of the month? The former jock who thinks he knows all there is to know about managing female employees will ask why you're spending so much time away from your desk. Didn't remember to charge your cell phone last night? The automagic locks on the doors in your workplace will stop working for you, and the chief of security will make a point of assigning a guard to escort you wherever you go, just so others don't forget. Did you indulge in a slice of pizza at lunch? Expect a contemptuous lecture from the motivational manager, who will tell you that your body is a temple of Christ and that you must take better care of it. Bill Horne Moderator

A petition created by the Save Dewey Beach campaign now has more than 400 names on it. Protest organizer Dan Dionisio says over 1,000 people are interested in the event on Facebook. This year, experts predict yet another extreme wildfire season in the American West as the drought conditions continue and temperatures rise. For residents throughout the region, having a "go bag" and an evacuation plan is now part of the normal summer routine. Preparing for extreme weather, natural disasters and other emergency situations is something we do all year long at Verizon to make sure our customers can connect with the people and information they need when it matters most. https://www.streetinsider.com/Globe+Newswire/Verizon+stands+ready+to+support+customers+during+wildfire+season/18594724.html
