CWA is concerned about the impact of this plan on media workers' jobs and wages and is calling for greater scrutiny from regulators. Three years ago, CWA supported AT&T's acquisition of Time Warner after assurances that workers at the new company would be able to join a union without interference from management and engage in collective bargaining. AT&T did not keep its promise to the workers. https://cwa-union.org/news/atts-warnermediadiscovery-deal-needs-more-scrutiny

Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association by Michael Lipton, QC and Kevin Weber In 2016, the Québec provincial government adopted an omnibus law that set out a large number of budgetary measures. Included in this omnibus legislation were provisions that purported to amend sections 260.33 to 260.37 of the Consumer Protection Act (the "CPA") to require that internet service providers ("ISP"s) take steps to block persons in Québec from accessing online gambling sites other than those conducted and managed by Loto-Québec (the "Provincial Provisions") The Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association (known in French as the Association canadienne des télécommunicationsns sans fil) (the "Association"), a non-profit association representing the wireless telecommunications industry, commenced an application in the Montreal Superior Court, challenging the validity, applicability, and operability of the Provincial Provisions. https://www.mondaq.com/unitedstates/gaming/1073944/attorney-general-of-queb=ec-v-canadian-wireless-telecommunications-association-procureur-gnral-du-qu=bec-v-association-canadienne-des-tlcommunications-sans-fil?email_access=on

The PRO Act will make it easier for workers to join unions, shift power away from CEOs to workers, and give us more leverage in contract negotiations. Make sure your Senators know you want them to support the bill. https://cwa-union.org/news/cwa-activists-build-support-for-pro-act
