The Shawnee City Council on Dec. 14 unanimously agreed to allow the telecommunications company Zayo to build a system in the public right-of-way. Councilors also voted to allow AT&T to add a small cell facility deployment. https://shawneemissionpost.com/2020/12/29/shawnee-councilors-vote-to-allow-new-telecommunications-systems-in-public-right-of-way-109157/ ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20201229191110.A7C2E732@telecom2018.csail.mit.edu> Date: Tue, 29 Dec 2020 19:11:10 +0000 (UTC) From: Moderator <telecomdigestsubmissions@remove-this.telecom-digest.org> Subject: What Is C-Band, and What Does It Mean for the Future of 5G? For 5G to offer an experience that's noticeably better than 4G, it needs broad, dedicated channels, ideally 50MHz or wider. Enter C-Band, the frequency that may save 5G in the US. By Sascha Segan A half-dozen companies are ready to potentially spend $80 billion for C-Band, a new set of airwaves that promise to fix the perilous state of American 5G. That's a vast amount of money, and it shows how important C-Band is. But what is C-Band, and what does it mean for 5G? Do you need a C-Band phone? Is C-Band a new frequency? Should you be scared of C-Band? I can explain. https://www.pcmag.com/news/what-is-c-band ------------------------------ Message-ID: <ac2dnQLXTsgdwHfCnZ2dnUU7-KHNnZ2d@giganews.com> Date: 28 Dec 2020 17:34:40 -0500 From: Retired <retired@home.com> Subject: Re: Every Device On This T-Mobile Network Upgrade List Stops Working Soon On 12/27/20 11:36 PM, Moderator wrote: > By Kaelin Dickerson > December 22, 2020 > > According to internal documents obtained by Android Police 19 devices > on T-Mobile will cease to work starting next month. So I searched and found a 4G bar phone I like to replace the Rally, adding the Rally to my collection of doorstops by Nokia, Motorola, & Blu ;-) ------------------------------ ********************************************* End of telecom Digest Wed, 30 Dec 2020
