By Nicholas Rossolillo The second quarter of 2020 was a momentous one for T-Mobile. Long chasing the two largest mobile networks in the U.S., Verizon and AT&T, the pink-logoed "Un-carrier" merged with Sprint and its more than 29 million subscribers on April 1 and had industry-best net subscriber additions of 1.25 million in the quarter. At the end of June, that equated to 98.3 million T-Mobile-branded mobile customers, more than the 92.9 million at AT&T but fewer than the nearly 120 million at Verizon. https://www.fool.com/investing/2020/08/07/t-mobile-touts-its-move-past-att.aspx -- Bill Horne Telecom Digest Moderator ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20200808174740.GA22291@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Sat, 8 Aug 2020 17:47:40 +0000 From: Moderator <telecomdigestsubmissions@remove-this.telecom-digest.org> Subject: Verizon keeps snapping up spectrum and small carriers By Mike Dano Verizon's thirst for spectrum appears unquenchable. After all, the operator is widely expected to dominate both the ongoing CBRS spectrum auction and the upcoming C-band spectrum auction. Further, Verizon has also been purchasing spectrum licenses around the country on the so-called "secondary market," directly from the companies that own the licenses. https://www.lightreading.com/5g/verizon-keeps-snapping-up-spectrum-and-small-carriers/d/d-id/763058 -- Bill Horne Telecom Digest Moderator ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20200808183341.GA22428@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Sat, 8 Aug 2020 18:33:41 +0000 From: Moderator <telecomdigestsubmissions@remove-this.telecom-digest.org> Subject: With almost 100,000 customers still without power, PSEG says 'nearly all' will be restored by Sunday evening By Denise Civiletti PSEG-Long Island says it has restored service to 75% of the customers who lost power in Tropical Storm Isaias Tuesday, and "nearly all" customers will be restored by the end of the day Sunday. https://tinyurl.com/y4mrh5do -- Bill Horne Telecom Digest Moderator ------------------------------ ********************************************* End of telecom Digest Sun, 09 Aug 2020
