The pain was instantaneous. Without streaming music or video, how do we fill that enormous void between dinner and bedtime? https://tinyurl.com/y7kdx77q -- Bill Horne Telecom Digest Moderator ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20200711040803.GA11926@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Sat, 11 Jul 2020 04:08:03 +0000 From: Moderator <telecomdigestsubmissions@remove-this.telecom-digest.org> Subject: Mississippi Call Center Bill Signed into Law! This week, Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves (R) signed the bipartisan Incentives Transparency for a Prosperous Mississippi Act into law. This bill, which was supported by CWA members, will protect call center workers across the state by denying state grants, loans, and tax breaks to companies who move taxpayer-funded Mississippi call center jobs out of the country. https://cwa-union.org/news/mississippi-call-center-bill-signed-into-law -- Bill Horne Telecom Digest Moderator ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20200711034656.GA11624@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Sat, 11 Jul 2020 03:46:56 +0000 From: Moderator <telecomdigestsubmissions@remove-this.telecom-digest.org> Subject: Holding AT&T Accountable Unity at Mobility local activists continue their fight to hold AT&T accountable in the face of COVID-19. By Doug Dawson Something has been bothering me for several months, and that usually manifests in a blog at some point. During the COVID-19 crisis, the FCC and big ISPs have repeatedly said that the only reason our networks weathered the increased traffic during the pandemic was due to the FCC's repeal of net neutrality and deregulation of the broadband industry. Nothing could be further from the truth. http://www.circleid.com/posts/20200711-did-broadband-deregulation-save-the-internet/ -- Bill Horne Telecom Digest Moderator ------------------------------ ********************************************* End of telecom Digest Mon, 13 Jul 2020
