They moved out to North Lake, Ill. I saw a blurb that the complex is being converted into apartments: A sign calls it "The Automatic Lofts". Their blurb says it was the company's location. https://www.automaticlofts.com/apartments/il/chicago/then-and-now Has anyone here ever dealt with AECO years back? Bitsavers.org recently uploaded two AECO publications from the 1930s. Interesting reading. One includes a drawing of the complex: http://bitsavers.org/communications/automaticElectric/Automatic_Telephony_as_a_Career.pdf Also, the Strowger Switch http://bitsavers.org/communications/automaticElectric/Strowger_P-A-X_Bulletin_1026_Sep1929.pdf According to googlestreetview, the buildings at W. Van Buren St. near S. Morgan St. seem to be identical to ones shown in the brochure (you can tell by the window and entrance layouts). Googlestreetview is a bit cumbersome to use. By Chris Chin In a string of bizarre events, authorities in Australia charged a man for criminally stalking his ex-girlfriend after he allegedly hacked her car, just so he could keep track of her whereabouts and play tricks with the vehicle's keyless-entry and push-button stop-start ignition system, all without her knowing. https://www.thedrive.com/news/30890/man-charged-after-using-app-to-remotely-hack-track-girlfriends-car-location ------------------------------ ********************************************* End of telecom Digest Fri, 15 Nov 2019
