Friel, Linda Goldstein, Amy Ralph Mudge and Randal M. Shaheen For most of us, gyms can be somewhat - intimidating. We're going there because we're less than perfect, of course. But why are there so many perfect people already there, working out one machine over? http://www.mondaq.com/article.asp?articleid=837526&email_access=on -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20190827224315.GA1344@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Tue, 27 Aug 2019 22:43:15 +0000 From: Bill Horne <bill@horneQRM.net> Subject: WHY WE WEAR RED: REMEMBERING GERRY HORGAN, CWA LOCAL 1103 CHIEF STEWARD Red Celebrates Life of CWAer Gerry Horgan Killed on Picket Line in 1989 We wear red to celebrate the life of CWA Local 1103 Chief Steward Gerry Horgan, who was run down over 20 years ago on a NYNEX picket line in Valhalla, N.Y. Horgan was the first, and until 2003, the only CWA member killed while picketing. His death is the reason why CWA members still today wear red in solidarity on Thursdays. http://www.cwa4340.org/wear-red-on-thursdays/ -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <954FE68A-3986-419C-9CF2-DB22F6E96B93@roscom.com> Date: 27 Aug 2019 19:10:38 -0400 From: "Monty Solomon" <monty@roscom.com> Subject: Sprint's 5G network in NYC isn't crazy fast, but it's fast enough For Sprint, consistency is more important than outright speed. By Chris Velazco Sprint's 5G network has been live in Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Chicago and Kansas City for a little a while, but its footprint just got a little bigger today. The carrier lit up four additional markets across the country today, giving us the perfect opportunity to see what Sprint 5G could offer in our own backyard - a.k.a Manhattan. Based on an afternoon's worth of testing with the sorta-new OnePlus 7 Pro 5G, it seems clear that while Sprint's 5G current 5G efforts might not be as viscerally impressive as other carriers', its customers could be in for a valuable treat. https://www.engadget.com/2019/08/27/sprint-s-5g-network-in-nyc-isn-t-crazy-fast-but-it-s-fast-enoug/ ------------------------------ ********************************************* End of telecom Digest Fri, 30 Aug 2019
