The agreement announced Thursday with the state Public Service Commission means Verizon expects to make its high-speed broadband network available to an additional 47,000 households across the state starting this year. https://www.democratandchronicle.com/story/news/politics/albany/2018/07/16/verizon-expand-high-speed-internet-new-york/788943002/ -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20180717040257.GA2781@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Tue, 17 Jul 2018 00:02:57 -0400 From: Bill Horne <bill@horneQRM.net> Subject: A Reduced Payout Could Be Coming for These High-Yield Dividend Stocks Don't get suckered into these potential dividend traps; the risks materially outweigh the potential rewards. By Reuben Gregg Brewer Dividend investors always have to balance the desire for a high yield against the risk that the yield is unsustainable. As a dividend investor myself, I know how hard that can be. Right now, I believe the yields offered by CenturyLink, Inc. ... are simply too high to be sustainable. As a result, reduced payouts could be coming for ... these high-yield dividend stocks. Here's why their big dividend yields aren't worth the risk. https://www.fool.com/investing/2018/07/14/a-reduced-payout-could-be-coming-for-these-high-yi.aspx -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <1628227646.6845739.1531831372348.JavaMail.zimbra@mymts.net> Date: Tue, 17 Jul 2018 08:42:52 -0400 (EDT) From: Clifford Lewis <cllewis@mts.net> Subject: reply to voice mail question > Message-ID: <E705A989-5F31-411E-854C-691B79EAD27B@jt-mj.net> > Date: Sat, 14 Jul 2018 17:15:26 -0400 From: Julian Thomas <jt@jt-mj.net> > Subject: doing without a landline > > Is there any way that 2 cell phones [same carrier, shared plan] can be > configured so that if a call goes to voicemail on one it also shows up > on the other as new voicemail? Check and see if your cell provider has the ability to offer combined mailbox service as an option. My cell and landline are from the same ILEC telco provider (BellMTS) and they have the ability to have calls from either number go to one mail box and both notify my cell and light the call waiting display on the landline sets. The cost is $5 monthly on the landline unless you have a service bundle you can put it in. I have never asked but I don't see why it could not be done for two cells or two landlines to have combined voice maibox service.
