This Week in Comcast: Can municipal broadband save customers money? As the digital media world continues to evolve, there's no question Comcast considers its broadband services to make up the core of its connectivity business, with CEO Brian Roberts saying in October it's "increasingly the epicenter of our relationship with customers, and ultimately where we derive the majority of our profitability." It makes sense then, that the company would throw its support behind organizations fighting to block municipalities' efforts to create their own public broadband systems and argue that the infrastructure costs are too much of a burden for taxpayers to bear. https://www.bizjournals.com/philadelphia/news/2018/01/16/comcast-cmcsa-municipal-broadband-cheaper-isp.html ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20180118025755.GA7988@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Wed, 17 Jan 2018 21:57:56 -0500 From: Bill Horne <bill@horneQRM.net> Subject: Exactly how, and when, technical analysis works for Centurylink CTL: Exactly How and When Technical Analysis Works in CenturyLink Inc This is one of the those remarkable few times where in the midst of a bull market we can see that CenturyLink Inc stock is actually down -36.16% over the last 5 years. Yet, in that same time frame, using a bullish technical signal on a stock that has dropped has actually shown substantial positive historical returns of 309% in the face of a stock down trend. There comes a point, after all the charts that are shared on CNBC and social media, when we simply must examine, in truth, whether technical trading has actually worked in the past, and if so, which signal, how is it generated, and what are the historical results -- explicitly? http://news.cmlviz.com/2018/01/17/ctl-exactly-how-and-when-technical-analysis-works-in-centurylink-inc.html -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ ********************************************* End of telecom Digest Thu, 18 Jan 2018
