The Northway (I-87 north of Albany) was built with these callboxes in the mid-late 1960s. They are long gone, but I don't know when they were taken out of service. ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20170823013112.GA17953@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Tue, 22 Aug 2017 21:31:12 -0400 From: Bill Horne <bill@horneQRM.net> Subject: Editor's Corner - Verizon breaks ranks with AT&T, CenturyLink on next-gen FTTP, G.fast by Sean Buckley Verizon always likes to carve its own path, and the service provider's stance on next-gen fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) architectures and G.fast set off ongoing debate with its counterparts AT&T and CenturyLink during the recent Adtran Connections event. Being one of the first telcos to deploy a large BPON-based network in 2004 - one that still exists in congruence with GPON - Verizon's stance on these issues should be of little surprise. Out of the big three providers, it also launched an aggressive fiber build-out focusing on its wireless backhaul and business needs. The telco will likely leverage the NG-PON2 infrastructure for those efforts. http://www.fiercetelecom.com/telecom/editor-s-corner-verizon-breaks-ranks-at-t-centurylink-next-gen-fttp-g-fast -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <3a498d56-d935-4ac0-915c-bb1d27e9e9f9@googlegroups.com> Date: Sat, 19 Aug 2017 11:05:09 -0700 (PDT) From: HAncock4 <withheld@invalid.telecom-digest.org> Subject: Comcast completes Xfinity Mobile rollout in U.S. Comcast Corp.'s new cellphone service is now available in all its U.S. markets, the company said Thursday.
