Many times these unprotected assets are part of corporate M&A activity but left unshielded they can become a hacker's playground, he tells Light Reading at its Service Provider & Enterprise Security Strategies event. http://www.lightreading.com/security/security-strategies/verizon-beware-unknown-unknowns/v/d-id/728814 -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20161207161836.GA13047@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Wed, 7 Dec 2016 11:18:36 -0500 From: Bill Horne <bill@horneQRM.net> Subject: Verizon to sell data centers to Equinix for .6 billion Verizon Communications Inc (VZ.N), the No. 1 U.S. wireless carrier, is selling 29 data centers in the United States and Latin America to Equinix Inc (EQIX.O) for $3.6 billion, as the telecom giant focuses on its core business. The data centers being sold are located in 15 metro areas, including New York, Atlanta, Chicago, Bogota and Sao Paulo. http://www.reuters.com/article/us-verizon-datacenters-equinix-idUSKBN13V1L8 -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20161207162325.GA13068@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Wed, 7 Dec 2016 11:23:25 -0500 From: Bill Horne <bill@horneQRM.net> Subject: Verizon's Bootloader Unlock Method for Pixel to be Patched This Week Hacking into the new Pixel and Pixel XL phones from Google has presented a new challenge to the community developers. We knew it would be this way even before they were officially launched because of the changes to system that Google undertook. We generally see things like root access and TWRP support released for a Google phone before they're available to the public, but it took a bit longer this time around. As Chainfire and Dees_Troy were working on their projects for the Pixel phones, XDA Senior Recognized Developers beaups and jcase announced they figured out a way to unlock the bootloader of the Verizon Wireless and EE Pixel smartphones. They were even nice enough to agree to release their unlock method to the community entirely for free, and a couple of days later, dePixel8 was made available to the public. https://www.xda-developers.com/verizonees-bootloader-unlock-method-for-pixel-to-be-patched-this-week/ -- Bill Horne (And I thought baseball players had silly names ...) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <c08b0$5847760a$41b57997$18472@news.flashnewsgroups.com> Date: Wed, 07 Dec 2016 02:38:02 +0000 From: La Polla <865b5cd0025b5446449bdb269b2b3602_5854@example.com> Subject: Re: Need documentation for a IBM SOHO Assistant model 001 replying to Bob K , La Polla wrote: > SPAMpot wrote: > > On 5/9/2014 2:47 PM, Steven Fleckenstein wrote: >> Bob, >> >> Try searching for the following: >> Multi-Tech Modem II MT2834BA >> Might be the same thing. >> Contact me directly. After two years of serious debates and repeated demonstration, the standard has finally been established. The standard will provide telecom and tower operators with a sound basis for selecting highly efficiently integrated solutions for their sites, better evaluate the energy efficiency of their existing networks, formulate more effective energy efficiency improvement plans, and carry out energy conservation and emission reduction. With the continuous development of digitization and the rapid growth of the telecom services, the ICT industry is under more and more pressure to increase revenues and reduce energy consumption. Lowering energy costs is one of the most important measures for operators to sustain or increase profits. http://www.lightreading.com/mobile/backhaul/huawei-energy-efficiency-standard-gets-itu-approval/d/d-id/728828 -- Bill Horne ------------------------------ ********************************************* End of telecom Digest Thu, 08 Dec 2016
