Specifically Paoli. Recently got the note from Verizon about dinging me $2.80 per month if I don't buy a new router from them. FIOS is nice....but is it *that* nice?.... My base phone bill is up to a little over $100/month from the sixty-some it was a few years ago. Anybody in this area got an alternative that is working for them? I'm thinking ditch FIOS and move my incoming phone service to the VOIP provider that I already use for outgoing. ?? -- Pete Cresswell ------------------------------ Message-ID: <nrgvka$hus$1@reader2.panix.com> Date: Fri, 16 Sep 2016 14:29:31 +0000 (UTC) From: danny burstein <dannyb@panix.com> Subject: Re: Free Wi-Fi Kiosks Were to Aid New Yorkers. They're a method of installing surveillance equipment all over the city so as to track everyone's movements, both by monitoring cell/smart phones in their pockets and.. by plenty, make that PLENTY, of attached video cameras. (Most people who watch this stuff, i.e. a hefty chunk of c.d.t. readers, figured out the first part. The video cameras and other sensors is something that wasn't so obvious) https://cryptome.org/2016/06/linknyc-spy-kiosks-installation-videos.htm -- _____________________________________________________ Knowledge may be power, but communications is the key dannyb@panix.com [to foil spammers, my address has been double rot-13 encoded] ------------------------------ ********************************************* End of telecom Digest Wed, 21 Sep 2016
