What did you expect? I don't know why we're so surprised. When you put your foot on a man's neck and hold him down for three hundred years, and then you let him up, what's he going to do? He's going to knock your block off.

Subject: Verizon sends bills that some customers can't read Message-ID: <mdt0c5$uii$1@dont-email.me> Verizon sends bills customer can't read by Stephanie Wilson and Lesli Foster, WUSA WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- "Let's go back to the bills, Marie," says her friend Charles Smith. Each month, he stops by to read and organize her mail. "It says your January bill is $182.46," he says. "When he read that thing to me I almost had a heart attack," says Marie Smith. Verizon apparently tried for some time to notify Marie about the changes coming to her account, and even sent a notice of suspension. But, they sent her those notices on paper. http://www.13wmaz.com/story/news/2015/03/12/verizon-sends-bills-customer-cant-read/70207748/ -or- http://goo.gl/3LPgK5 -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my address to write to me directly)

Subject: Verizon Expects Service Cancellations Message-ID: <mdt0r2$qr$1@dont-email.me> Verizon Expects Increase in Service Cancellations in First Quarter Major wireless-phone carriers made far more price moves in 2014 compared with the year before By THOMAS GRYTA Verizon Communications Inc. said its wireless-service cancellations will again be elevated from a year earlier in the first quarter, amid what has been a more competitive market for subscribers. The price war among the U.S. carriers has "calmed a bit," but moves from rivals could change that, Chief Financial Officer Fran Shammo said at an investor conference Tuesday. In 2014, the major carriers made more than 90 price moves compared with about 20 the year before, Mr. Shammo said. http://www.wsj.com/articles/verizon-expects-increase-in-service-cancellations-in-first-quarter-1425995141 -or- http://goo.gl/wgV3v8 -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my address to write to me directly)

Subject: Verizon Dismisses Cable's WiFi Voice Agenda Message-ID: <mdt16u$28p$1@dont-email.me> Verizon Dismisses Cable's WiFi Voice Agenda Is Cable Also Lukewarm about Near-term Wireless Opportunity? by Gary Arlen It was hardly surprising that a top Verizon executive brushed off cable operators' plans to develop urban WiFi networks for competitive local voice and data services. "The cable companies will probably execute on some type of an MVNO [mobile virtual network operator] for WiFi, but we don't believe that it's going to be a replacement for LTE," said Verizon Communications' CFO Fran Shammo at Monday's Deutsche Bank Media, Internet and Telecom Conference. http://www.multichannel.com/blog/i-was-saying/verizon-dismisses-cables-wifi-voice-agenda/388795 -or- http://goo.gl/WDpd3i -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my address to write to me directly)

Subject: Centurylink IT undergoing overhaul Message-ID: <mdt680$oqm$1@dont-email.me> Centurylink CTO in major overhaul by Carol Wilson Four months into his new job as CenturyLink's CTO, Aamir Hussain is making a bold move with a sweeping reorganization designed to transform the legacy telco into an "agile" IT organization offering cloud-based IP services and able to innovate much more quickly. "We need to transform from a telephone company to IT-based services company," Hussain tells Light Reading in an interview. "When I looked at my organization, I saw us doing great work in cloud area, I saw us doing some great work on the network side -- I didn't see a way for us to take what we built on the network and put it on the cloud. I've departed completely from a silo development-type model to a horizontal functional structure." http://www.lightreading.com/business-employment/business-transformation/new-centurylink-cto-in-major-overhaul/d/d-id/714192 -or- http://goo.gl/eMH150 -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my address to write to me directly)
