Subject: Developers sought for vacant Bell Telephone building Message-ID: <firstname.lastname@example.org> In Trenton, NJ, they're seeking developers to redo a vacant Bell Telephone building that once housed a switching office. A number of Verizon properties are now vacant, thanks to electronic switchgear and consolidation of operator, repair, and business office functions (though some properties remain in use to this day as central offices). An article, with photos, in the Trenton Times describes the effort: http://www.nj.com/mercer/index.ssf/2014/11/trenton_loooks_for_a_second_chance_at_ redeveloping_former_bell_telephone_building_downtown.html In downtown Philadelphia, a former Bell central office at 1835 Arch Street has been converted to luxury apartments. It retains its Bell logos: http://goo.gl/maps/dJLtr|

The smartphone gets us where we need to go, thanks to built-in mapping and navigation. Google has long dominated the smartphone map race. But Apple Maps, its primary competitor, at least in the United States, has made great strides in the last couple of years, recovering nicely from the disastrous introduction of Maps in 2012. Both now give accurate directions, for the most part, and keep adding features to beat the other. ... http://www.nytimes.com/2014/11/13/technology/personaltech/the-map-apps-that-move-you-in-the-right-direction.html|
