Subject: One of the web's pioneers will be wiped from the internet
in May
By Jordan Valinsky
Yahoo Answers, a question-and-answer platform that launched more than
15 years ago and became one of the largest troves of information --
and misinformation -- on the internet, is shutting down on May 4.
The Verizon-owned website announced the platform's cancellation Monday
with a terse statement on Yahoo Answers' homepage. The portal will go
into "read only" mode on April 20 and avid users will have until June
30 to download content, Yahoo explained on its help page.

Subject: Verizon denies allegations that it's throttling mobile data
for Hurricane Florence victims
By Brian Fung
Verizon said Tuesday that it is not slowing down or degrading the
wireless services of North Carolina residents who have been affected
by Hurricane Florence, after a report surfaced accusing the company of
"deprioritiz[ing]" mobile data plans.
A hurricane victim identifying him- or herself as a Verizon customer
posted to reddit Monday saying that it has been days since it has been
possible to check Facebook or email from a mobile device in a small
town in eastern North Carolina.
