Subject: FCC Delays Are Keeping Broadband From Rural School Kids
By Issie Lapowsky
WOODMAN SCHOOL IS a tiny, whitewashed schoolhouse lodged in a remote
clearing in Montana's Lolo National Forest. It has a total of 35
students, and in January, all of them got the same assignment: Write a
letter to local lawmakers explaining why you want internet access at
school.

Apple's iPhone X Took 35% of Smartphone Profits in the Fourth Quarter
By Don Reisinger
Apple's iPhone X has been slammed by reports that demand for the
handset is sluggish. But a new report suggests it tops in
profitability.
The flagship Apple handset nabbed 35% of the smartphone market's
profits during the fourth quarter, market researcher Counterpoint
reported on Tuesday. The iPhone X was the most profitable smartphone
on the market, topping Apple's iPhone 8, which captured 19.1% of the
industry's worldwide profits, according to Counterpoint. The iPhone 8
Plus landed in third place with 15.2% profit share.

I had a number of Motorola IMTS systems in my trucks. Also GE. All on
vhf band. I have a GE IMTS phone with Glenayre head that still works.

I take it that there are still service providers for IMTS? How much
does the service cost?
By the way, there's an excellent site covering the pre-cellular mobile
phones:
