The FCC normally has five commissioners, but there is currently a vacant seat, and without a full commission, it will be difficult to move forward on making sure that all Americans have the services they need. Throughout her career, Sohn has been a staunch advocate for the expansion of affordable internet access. During the T-Mobile/Sprint merger, she was a key CWA ally in the fight to protect jobs, and she knows that to build broadband better we need effective state oversight. Sohn will continue to fight for workers and consumers as Commissioner of the FCC. https://aftmichigan.org/weekly-update-january-10-2022/

Listen to this 9 minute podcast as TC2 Directors Theresa Knutson, Julie Gardner, and Joe Schmidt discuss why enterprises still use POTS lines for services like elevator phones, explain why ILECs are imposing these huge price increases, and offer insight on what you need to do. https://www.mondaq.com/unitedstates/telecoms-mobile-cable-communications/1148782/look-out-for-the-rising-costs-of-ilec-local-services?email_access=on -- I don't want to say that I'm old and worn out, but I'm never anywhere near the curb on trash day

Greenbaum TheTelephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991 <https://www.fcc.gov/sites/default/files/tcpa-rules.pdf>(the "TCPA") prohibits the sending, by fax, of unsolicited advertisements. In 2019, the Juva Skin and Laser Center received two unsolicited faxes from Focus Forward, a market research company that was soliciting people to participate in market research surveys. Juva sued the Focus Forward in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, alleging that the sending of the faxes violated the TCPA. The District Court dismissed the case, and the Second Circuit recently affirmed the decision. This feature is designed to give users an additional layer of privacy by ensuring that no one can view the websites that they visit. Now, in addition to some carriers in Europe, it appears that T-Mobile/Sprint in the United States is also blocking iCloud Private Relay access when connected to cellular data. https://9to5mac.com/2022/01/10/t-mobile-block-icloud-private-relay/

And-the-truth-of-the-matter-is deptartment ....

In their insatiable quest for knowledge about every aspect of our online lives, T-Mobile/Sprint are sabotaging any chance Apple users may have had to keep their click list private - or at least limited to Apple's walled garden of Mac Minions. Of course, what they really want is the CONTENT of every interaction with every website, but for their purposes the click list will suffice: this is a part of intelligence gathering known as "Traffic Analysis," which tells the eavesdropper enough to make business decisions such as which vendor of which product or service they can offer "enhanced" access - to the identities of the customers whom are looking at competitors' websites, or seeking help with a serious illness, or finding out which of them wants to read the views of rabble-rousing un-americun opponents in upcoming elections, etc., etc.

Ain't no bystanders in this battle, folks: you are what you eat, and the advertising agencies are busy constructing more fairy tales about how you should be glad to swallow more … ah, "postive images" … which will convince you that things are fine the way they are and that you should never question your betters leaders.
