A weekend fire at an underground Verizon facility disrupted service,
including 911 calls, to parts of Mount Vernon, Yonkers and Bronxville.
By Jeff Edwards
MOUNT VERNON, NY - City officials in Mount Vernon say a weekend fire
at an underground Verizon facility briefly disrupted emergency 911
services. Emergency calls are again being answered, but as many as
21,000 customers in Mount Vernon, Yonkers and Bronxville lost
phone/internet/cable service on Friday. On Saturday, 900 business and
residential customers were still waiting for service to be restored.

Subject: Mobile edge computing, explained by Verizon Business CEO
The technology will work with 5G to eliminate any sense of lag time on
your favorite apps now and on more advanced applications like
self-driving cars in the future.
By Roger Cheng
One of the key traits of 5G is the ability to cut down on the latency,
or lag time, on apps like Fortnite or streaming services like
Netflix. The idea is, you tap your phone and it instantly
responds. But there's another technology that works in concert with 5G
called mobile edge computing.

Subject: OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro now support Verizon 5G - what
you need to know
The OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro have just got significantly better -
at least if your wireless carrier is Verizon.
These two phones now work with Verizon's 5G network when you use an
unlocked handset with a Verizon SIM. It's arguably a problem that
shouldn't have existed in the first place, but we're glad that it's
been resolved so quickly after the phone's launch.
