Subject: Microsoft Azure Checklist: Expert Advice on Security
by Sonrai Security Marketing on March 28, 2021
According to the Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report, 63% of
data breaches, including the breach that sunk Code Spaces, was due to
a compromised account where the malicious actor exploited a weak,
default, or stolen password. Misconfigured security settings or
accounts with excessive identity and access management (IAM)
permissions can increase the potential damage.

Subject: The media is slashing jobs again as the Trump news cycle
fades and the economy struggles
By Kerry Flynn, CNN Business
For years, the media industry has been forced to compete with tech
platforms for advertising revenue and consumers' time. Now, in
addition to those same pressures, publishers will see increased
competition for attention as the economy opens back up.
Last March, media owners reacted to the economic fallout of the
pandemic with furloughs, layoffs and other cost-cutting measures. This
March, as the world enters the next phase of the pandemic, four
notable brands made major announcements that signified more
instability in the industry.

Subject: AT&T to Biden: Don't leave 5G out of infrastructure
spending frenzy
By Mike Dano
The Biden administration is reportedly preparing an infrastructure
spending plan that could top $3 trillion. An unspecified portion of
that is expected to be directed toward crossing the digital divide.
Not surprisingly, telecommunications providers and vendors of all
sizes and types are jostling for a chance to grab a portion of that
spending for themselves. After all, how can the government make sure
all Americans have access to a speedy Internet connection without
ultimately directing money toward the companies that will build and
deliver those connections?
