Subject: Power ring continues briefly after answer
I could not find this in the archives.
I am served by Centurylink in central North Carolina.
Some time (a year or so) after moving to a new address and porting my
number from BellSouth, my phones began continuing to ring for a short
interval after a call was answered.
The scenario: The multiple phones ring. I answer (off-hook). On the
answered phone I can hear the power ring signal, and the unanswered
phones continue to ring for perhaps one second, probably finishing the
ring cycle. Then all is apparently normal.
There are 4 2-line phones (3 AT&T model 822 electronic and a Sony, not
2500 sets) and a 1-line cordless, 3 with ringers turned on, and a
really old but still working fine Code-a-phone 2530 answering machine
connected. Possibly related, I have 2 lines, the second of which goes
to the 4 2-line phones, but only one of the 4 second-line ringers is
on. The problem occurs on the second line as well.
We had a service call, and the tech said he even changed the switch line
card, I think. It did not fix the problem.
Ideas? I'm hoping I can tell the tech where to look.

Subject: Donald Trump wants to ban the Internet
Sometimes, it is necessary to see an alligator up close to understand
that it is a completely different species than man: when you are only
a few feet away, even in a boat, as it closes its eyes and sinks below
the pond scum without a sound, you realize that it wants to eat you -
that it has no higher order of thought or intention than to feed
itself and to bask in the sun.
Speaking as he called for a "complete shutdown" on Muslims entering
the US, Mr Trump dismissed claims that "closing up the internet"
would be a freedom of speech issue.
Donald Trump has called for the internet to be turned off so that
children can no longer use it.
The presidential hopeful said that "We've got to maybe do something
with the internet," because it was being used to radicalise
people. He said that he would "see Bill Gates" so that he could
look into "closing it up".

This buffoon Trump is a reptile that should be in either a zoo or a
circus freak show. I would say "or in a jungle", but that might imply
I think it suitable for the jungles of capital hill, and those
conditions have broken many creatures of a higher order.
The time will come soon, I think, when we will all realize that we
have stuck Uncle Sams' head in its mouth because we have been very,
very stupid and somehow expected a prehistoric creature to become
something it is not.
