Subject: AT&T and Comcast say they've hit new milestone in fight
against robocalls
The companies say their upcoming authentication system is the
industry's first to verify calls between separate providers.
BY Marrian Zhou
One way wireless carriers are working to stop the flood of unwanted
robocalls is through authentication systems that verify caller
IDs. One drawback so far has been that these systems work only on
calls to and from the same provider.
On Wednesday, AT&T and Comcast said they'll offer call authentication
between networks later this year. Customers will be able to see
verified calls from all participating carrier providers.

and reproduction of birds, insects, and other organisms that could
have disastrous effects on our fragile ecosystems.
A lot of the 'gloom and doom' comes from questionable sources; has any
responsible group [not in the clutches of the carriers] weighed in on
this within the past year?

This new movie dramatizes the building of a direct fiber optic link from
Kansas to New York so stock trades arrive in New York a millisecond
earlier than everyone else's. Nice view of horizontal drilling. Also shows
that microwave links are faster than fiber.
