Subject: All internet service providers in US must block 3 pirate
streaming sites, federal judge rules
By Debra Cassens Weiss
A federal judge in New York City has ordered every internet service
provider in the United States to block three pirate streaming services
that are rebroadcasting copyrighted Israeli shows in this country.
U.S. District Judge Katherine Polk Failla of the Southern District of
New York issued default judgments and permanent injunctions last week
against streaming services Israel.tv, Israeli-tv.com and Sdarot.tv,
report Ars Technica, TorrentFreak and TechDirt.

Subject: CWA Activists in Texas Continue the Fight for Equitable
Broadband Access
Last Wednesday, activists from CWA Local 6215 spoke before the Dallas
City Council to urge the city to attach labor standards to public
funds that are used to expand broadband internet access to unserved
communities. The labor standards will ensure that these funds are used
in a way that will create more good union jobs and require telecom
companies to maintain high training and safety standards.
CWA Broadband Brigade member Robin Johnson and AT&T prem techs Sean
Wilborn and Britni Cuington provided an overview of the proposed labor
standards and explained why this is an important issue for workers and
the community at large. Each time one of the CWA members spoke, every
CWA member in the audience stood up in solidarity wearing red CWA
shirts.

Subject: FirstNet, Built with AT&T is Connecting More First
Responders Across New Hampshire
By First Responder Network Authority
What's the news? AT&T is America's public safety communications
partner. In the nearly 5 years since we were selected by the First
Responder Network Authority (FirstNet Authority) to build and operate
FirstNet, we have moved quickly to bring more coverage, boost capacity
and drive new capabilities for New Hampshire first responders and the
communities they serve - rural and urban.
Today, FirstNet, Built with AT&T covers first responders across New
Hampshire - helping to connect public safety agencies and
organizations in more than 70 communities. That's why we're focused on
increasing network capacity for New Hampshire public safety by
deploying Band 14 spectrum - nationwide, high-quality spectrum set
aside by the federal government specifically for FirstNet. We've
rolled out Band 14 on hundreds of sites across New Hampshire to
provide public safety with truly dedicated coverage and capacity when
they need it.

Fascination-of-the-abomination department: a dot-gov website turned into
an advertisement for a profitable commercial firm. This is just wrong.
