Subject: Verizon Talks Up Private Core as AT&T Launches FirstNet
By Dan Jones
If you thought AT&T had the 4G public safety network market all
wrapped up with FirstNet, well, think again!
As AT&T Inc. launched the FirstNet network Tuesday, which all 50
states in the US have signed up for, Verizon Communications
Inc. rolled out the private core network for emergency workers it
first promised last year.

Subject: Minnesota Claims Frontier Communications short of customer
service standards
Phone service provider has hundreds of complaints, mostly on internet service.
By Mike Hughlett
Frontier Communications in 2017 fell short of state standards for
fixing phone service outages within 24 hours, as well as the response
time for customers calling with complaints, an attorney with the
Minnesota Department of Commerce said.
After hearing Thursday from state and company officials and reviewing
a deluge of customer complaints about Frontier's phone and internet
service, the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (PUC) ordered
Commerce to do a formal investigation of the telecommunications
company's compliance with state customer service regulations.

Subject: How Wireless Providers Are Quietly Screwing Over Some
Customers
By Rhett Jones
In April, Verizon will begin charging its customers a surprisingly
high fee if they intend to pay their monthly bill over the phone with
a representative. It's an overlooked practice that's spreading among
big telecoms and provides huge profit potential while eliminating
needs for human personnel. All the while, those who likely can least
afford it pay the price.
