Subject: The Future of Class Notice?: Another Court Orders Class
Notice be Sent Via Text Message
A while back I pointed out the irony of a text message TCPA class
action ending with the parties sending more text messages to the class
members to notify them about the lawsuit regarding text messages. It
just seemed strange.
Well in James v. Boyd Gaming Corp., ... a Defendant in an FLSA case
was just ordered to produce cell phone numbers to the Plaintiff for
the express purpose of sending notice to the class via text
message. The Court noted the concerns animating the TCPA and the
desire to keep contact rates low. Nonetheless, it found that text
notice was the best way to assure class members were informed of the
case.

Subject: T-Mobile Goes After Businesses And AT&T And Verizon Should
Be Concerned
By Anshel Sag
T-Mobile has gone through numerous changes in the last few years, one
being that the "Uncarrier" has expanded the aperture beyond
consumer. For years, T-Mobile has focused on bringing disruption to
the consumer segment, but it chose not to balance its business
services efforts.

Subject: Couple picks up ham radios as productive hobby
(WSIL) -- It's during times of crisis when we realize the importance
of communication.
The bombing that shook Nashville on Christmas Day, damaged a key AT&T
communication hub, knocking out internet and phone services across
their region.
That's just one instance when phone and internet services failed in an
emergency. It's for that reason, Massac County Amateur Radio Club
President, Ruben Fuente, has added an extra means of communication to
his emergency plan.
