Subject: Teletype machines
I just bought a property and some Teletype machines and their manuals
and paper rolls were left behind and came with it in the sale. All are
available. Items are near the Nortwest Oregon area, near Astoria.
Anyone can feel free to reach out to me at 503-706-7323.
Please, phone calls only on initial contact, no texts.
Do not reply on this forum as I do not intend to check it.
***** Moderator's Note *****
Mr. Mercado seems to have bought some sort of maintenance depot, and
he sent me a lot of pictures of the things that are available. There
may be other machines, but I couldn't get all the pictures downloaded
from my cell phone.
The pictures show a TELEX, a TWX, and a plain 33 ASR machine, a model
14, and a Model 35 ASR, plus various kinds of test equipment.
Neither I nor the Telecome Digest can guarantee these units, and all
the usual caveats apply. No money has or will change hands: this is a
notice for the readers only. If anyone who knows Teletype gear is near
the site Mr. Mercado has purchased, please consider contacting him to
visit it, and send me more details on the units which are being
offered. Thanks in advance.
If anyone is on the Greenkeys list, please let me know, and post this
over there too. TIA.

Subject: FCC Sets Auction Schedule For 2020
The FCC's 2020 auction calendar is already full with three significant
auctions scheduled before the end of the year. These auctions will
unlock prime spectrum for 5G and other advanced spectrum services and
help connect millions of rural Americans with broadband.
Below are key application deadlines and brief summaries of the auction
proceedings. Participants and investors must pay particular attention
to the FCC's auction schedule because they are bound by the FCC's
anti-collusion rule "quiet period," which prohibits certain
communications between auction applicants and some outside parties.

Subject: Re: Keystone - Initial digit 1
These numbers starting with 1 reminds me of an experiment a friend and
I did in high school (50 years ago) in the San Francisco east bay area.
This is before an initial 1 indicated 10 digits followed instead of 7,
so the initial 3 digits were either an area code or prefix. We found
all the 3 digit codes that were not one of these (as listed in the
front of the phone book) and called them. We got test boards, test
tones, and lots of different stuff.

Subject: Some mobile ad-blockers and VPNs siphoning user data,
report finds
Generally, if someone is installing a VPN or ad-blocker on their
mobile phone, they're doing it to increase their privacy. But several
apps distributed by an analytics firm that hid its connection to them
have been doing the exact opposite, instead siphoning data from
millions of users, a new report finds.
