Subject: Verizon "Early Termination" fee is all wrong, customer says
By Karin Price Mueller
One mistake by a Verizon employee almost cost Jim DiOrio $170.
DiOrio had Verizon service -- copper, not fiber -- at his Morristown
home.
In 2017, he received several letters from Verizon saying DiOrio's
service needed to be upgraded to FIOS because the company was no
longer going to support its copper wire network.

Subject: How Profitable is CenturyLink, Inc.?
In trying to determine how profitable a company is per asset dollar,
we can take a look at the firm's Return on Assets. Return on assets
is calculated by dividing a company's net income (usually annual
income) by its total assets, and is displayed as a percentage. At the
time of writing, CenturyLink, Inc. has 0.029543 ROA. The measure is
commonly used to compare the performance of businesses within the same
industry, since it is very difficult for someone to obfuscate the cash
flow figure. Thus, the ratio is quite a reliable and comparable
measure of asset performance across an industry.

U.S. Orders Qualcomm to Delay Meeting for Review of Broadcom Offer
Move represents a highly unusual intervention by Washington
By Stu Woo
The U.S. government ordered Qualcomm Inc. to delay its shareholder
meeting this week to provide it more time to review rival Broadcom
Ltd.'s proposed $117 billion takeover of the chip maker.
The move, which Broadcom said was a response to a request by Qualcomm,
represents a highly unusual intervention by Washington and will delay
Broadcom's proxy fight for control of Qualcomm's board. Qualcomm's
shareholders were set to vote on whether to replace six of its 11
directors with nominees put forward by Broadcom.
