Subject: The Uber business model doesn't travel well
The ride-hailing service is a giant, but companies that aim to get
stuff done on demand for customers, like food delivery, grocery
shopping and parking, are faltering.

Subject: Verizon cutting copper phone lines
The Philadelphia Inquirer reported on how Verizon has advised
subscribers in various Philadelphia area neighborhoods that
their traditional POTS landline service will be discontinued.
They would have 30 days to switch to something else.
Customers are upset. They don't want to lose the reliability
of telephone service that works during extended power failures,
and to pay more for less service.
Verizon, one of the nation's largest phone providers, has begun
without a formal announcement to stop operating legacy copper and
modern fiber lines on the same telephone poles. Instead, it is
transitioning to all fiber, a potential concern for hundreds of
thousands of Verizon customers in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and
other states where the phone giant operates.
