Subject: CWA urging members to question AT&T about what it did with
tax breaks
This is from the CWA newsletter:

AT&T Midwest
The AT&T Midwest bargaining team returned to the bargaining table this
week in an attempt to restart meaningful negotiations. They will
continue to push AT&T to commit to servicing the customers of the
Midwest region with reliable market-leading communications services as
they have for decades using CWA members covered by the Midwest
Agreement.
The bargaining team is urging members to write a short letter to their
members of Congress ask them to investigate what AT&T has done with
its tax break windfall since the company is clearly not keeping its
promise to using the money to create jobs and keep good jobs in the
communities they serve. You can find more information on the letter
writing campaign at

Subject: Re: Yes, you can still call for time and temperature
In response to an article touting you can still call the time and temperature
in 2019, I would like to add that I am the proud owner of 6 time and
temperature numbers:
(731) 468-9167
(406) 662-8836
(415) 475-9034
(631) 822-0131
(914) 810-8055
(262) 261-3426
Perhaps someone has a use for them,
Accurate time and temperature is provided for any US caller, based on CLID.
The NPA is used to provide your local time/temp.
The current temp, high, and low are provided in F and C.
In addition, old time and temperature announcements are played.
For those with illogical caller ID (i.e. in another NPA), there is also an
option to enter an NPA at the end for time/temp in that area.

Subject: 5G And The Future Of Entertainment
Article by Alissa Miller, Jennifer L. Richter and Courtney S. York
Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP
The technology on everyone's mind at this year's CES was 5G. So named
because it is the fifth-generation wireless networking technology,
offering more than just incremental performance improvements over 4G
– some experts are predicting that the technology will usher in
a "fourth industrial revolution." Some of the most immediate and
predictable effects of 5G will be felt in the media and entertainment
industries, where 5G is expected to unlock more than a trillion
dollars in new revenues.
Important to an understanding of 5G's potential is a discussion of the
sheer scale of its technical improvements. 5G promises, among other
things, data speeds 100 times faster than 4G, 10 times lower latency,
100 times more network capacity and significantly more reliable
connections. Some of the effects of these improvements are more
obvious: a two-hour HD movie can take several minutes to download at
4G speeds, but, with 5G, users could download the same movie in just a
few seconds. This alone will allow traditional content creators to
push far more product to consumers – video is, in fact, expected to
account for 90 percent of 5G data traffic – but the high speeds of 5G
wireless will also combine with 5G's latency, capacity and reliability
improvements to facilitate entry for new competitors and new business
models for new and old competitors alike.
