California Yellow pages firm sues phone giant AT&T

FRESNO, Calif. (AP) -- A California Yellow Pages company filed a lawsuit 
against AT&T and its corporate partners Wednesday in a dispute over 
phone book advertising.

The lawsuit filed by Fresno-based Valley Yellow Pages says a rival phone 
book run by AT&T and Cerberus Capital Management LP are offering 
illegal, secret discounts to advertisers. The lawsuit seeks an end to 
the alleged practice and unspecified damages.

AT&T lays out 'radical' network changes with SDN

AT&T is remaking its infrastructure as a "user-defined network cloud" in 
the pursuit of greater flexibility, lower costs and faster response to 
user needs, the carrier's infrastructure chief said.

"We're doing with the [wide-area network] what the world has done with 
the data center," said John Donovan, senior executive vice president of 
technology and network operations, in a keynote address at the Open 
Networking Summit in Santa Clara, California. AT&T wants to be able to 
quickly develop new services and applications and adapt to changing 
network demands with the kind of agility that cloud service providers 
have today.

Comcast Has AT&T Worrying About the US

Comcast's $45.2 billion deal to buy for Time Warner Cable has made an
impression on AT&T.

The telecom giant's CEO, Randall Stephenson, said the move shifted his
view of the year ahead, giving him a greater sense of urgency to build
out AT&T's Internet-protocol, fiber network as well as its LTE
wireless broadband network.
