Subject: CONSUMER ALERT: Customer Data from the 2021 T-Mobile Data
Breach Found on the Dark Web
ATLANTA, GA - Attorney General Chris Carr is urging T-Mobile customers
in Georgia to protect their personal information after compromised
customer data was found on the dark web following T-Mobile's data
breach announced in August 2021. This breach may affect current,
former and prospective customers. Prospective customers include those
who began the process to enroll with T-Mobile but ultimately did not
obtain service.
"Given the broad scope of T-Mobile's data breach and news that this
compromised data has been found on the dark web, it is imperative
that current, former and prospective customers take the necessary
steps to prevent identity theft or worse," said Carr. "Our first
priority is to protect our state's consumers, and we stand ready to
assist Georgia customers to ensure their personal information is not
stolen. Georgians affected by this breach should monitor their
accounts, including their credit, and take all other necessary
measures to keep their data safe from fraudsters and thieves."

Subject: Investigation Shows That Minnesota Police surveilled
Journalists and Protesters
PUBLISHED March 3, 2022
PRISONS & POLICING
A new investigation reveals that federal and local law enforcement
agencies have been surveilling journalists and activists involved in
the protests that followed the murder of George Floyd for over a year
under a secretive program known as Operation Safety Net (OSN), despite
claiming to have shut the operation down last April.
Officials announced OSN in February 2021, a month before the trial for
former Minneapolis police officer and murderer Derek Chauvin
began. Law enforcement officials claimed that the goal of the program
was to ensure that the public was able to exercise its right to free
speech while making sure that things like business buildings
weren't harmed in the process.

Subject: AG Jennings Alerts Consumers Impacted By 2021 T-Mobile Data
Breach To Take Steps To Protect Their Personal Information
Attorney General Kathleen Jennings urges all Delaware residents who
believe they were impacted by the data breach announced by T-Mobile in
August 2021 to take appropriate steps to protect their information
from identity theft.
On August 17, T-Mobile reported a massive data breach compromising the
sensitive personal information of millions of current, former, and
prospective T-Mobile customers. The breach impacted more than 53
million individuals, including over 148,000 Delaware residents. Among
other categories of impacted information, millions had their names,
dates of birth, Social Security Numbers, and driver's license
information compromised.
Recently, a large subset of the information compromised in the breach
was for sale on the dark web - a hidden portion of the Internet where
cyber criminals buy, sell, and track personal information. Many
individuals have since received alerts through various identity theft
protection services informing them that their information was found
online in connection with the breach, confirming that impacted
individuals are at heightened risk for identity theft.
