The FCC said it granted 51 of the 68 total long-form applications received from winning bidders in Auction 108, following what it called a “thorough review of the applications and a period of public comment.” https://www.fiercewireless.com/wireless/fcc-grants-first-batch-25-ghz-licenses-minus-t-mobile

The deal was initiated and negotiated by a Verizon lobbyist, entirely bypassing City Council and public input. Faulconer touted the Verizon deal saying it would “increase services and expand our smart cities capabilities, at no additional costs to taxpayers.” However, three years into the 10-year deal term, San Diegans are subsidizing the buildout of Verizon’s 5G network, and promised community benefits have failed to materialize, potentially costing taxpayers over a million dollars. https://fair5g.org/system/files/2022-11/20221120_sandiegovzreport_1.pdf?link_id=36&can_id=b0525419035b70bd3662bfb9368336bd&source=email-let-it-snow-ski-resort-mechanics-win-representation-with-cwa-and-other-news-2&email_referrer=email_1755415&email_subject=video-bad-boss-responds-to-cwa-strike-by-hitting-mobilizer-with-bag-of-food-and-other-news

Klein On November 21, 2022, the Federal Communications Commission (the "FCC" or "Commission") issued a declaratory ruling and order finding that “ringless voicemails” are subject to the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”) and, therefore, require prior express consent from wireless recipients. This ruling should end the long-standing debate over whether consent is required to deliver ringless voicemail messages. The order makes clear that the FCC is not prohibiting the sending of ringless voicemail; rather, it is clarifying that ringless voicemail messaging is subject to the TCPA. The FCC ruled that ringless voicemail calls should be regulated under the artificial or prerecorded voice prong of the statute, which requires the prior express consent of consumers prior to delivery to wireless numbers. https://www.mondaq.com/article/news/1255842?q=1803232&n=624&tp=7&tlk=2&lk=35 -- (Please remove QRM to reply to the sender)
