Subject: Opinion: Competition Policy Will Protect The At&T/Verizon
Wireless Moat
By John Kneuer
In an investment strategy first popularized by Warren Buffet,
investors are encouraged to seek out companies that are surrounded by
a competitive "moat."
Investopedia, the online financial wiki, expands on this as a
business' ability to protect its competitive advantage, long-term
profits, and market share from competing firms. This moat "serves to
protect those inside the fortress and their riches from outsiders."

Separating hype from the reality of the next generation of wireless
technology.
By Roger Cheng
The next generation of wireless technology, fittingly known as 5G, is
just around the corner. If you ask Verizon, it's already here.
One thing the entire industry can agree on is it's going to change our
lives. The industry, of course, really wants 5G to be a thing.

Subject: AT&T and Verizon Pursue Different Paths Into the Future
AT&T plunges into programming and advertising, while Verizon banks on
a network built to milk 5G technology.
By Drew FitzGerald and Sarah Krouse
A maturing wireless industry has drawn sharply different responses
from industry leaders AT&T Inc. and Verizon Communications Inc., two
companies that used to move in tandem.
AT&T is diving headfirst into entertainment and advertising, spending
tens of billions of dollars to control in-demand programming like
HBO's "Game of Thrones" and live National Basketball Association games
on TNT that it can distribute throughout its wireless, satellite and
fiber-optic networks.
