Subject: Verizon provides update to cell service restoration in the
Panhandle
By: Ken McVay
The work continues in Florida and Georgia to repair damaged
fiber. Progress today resulted in four more cell sites on air.
A critical site in Mexico Beach is now providing coverage for
residents who remained and first responders in that community. Two
additional sites are up east of Panama City covering the area north of
Alford and I-10 area, the town of Wausau and the Washington County
EOC. A tower covering an area north of Panama City where Highway 231
and US 98 meet is also back on air using repaired fiber.

Subject: Sacramento scraps plan to install Verizon kiosks
By Scott Rodd
Sacramento will hold off on installing over a dozen large digital
kiosks that were meant to be part of the $100 million partnership
between the city and Verizon Communications Inc.
Under the agreement between the city and Verizon (NYSE: VZ), finalized
in June 2017, the wireless company committed to investing $100 million
in Sacramento to establish an extremely fast 5G wireless network,
implement advanced traffic control technology and offer free Wi-Fi in
parks to improve internet access for underserved residents. In return,
the city agreed to waive millions of dollars in leasing fees and grant
the Verizon access to city conduit for laying fiber cables.

Subject: Annual Lobbying Expense by Centurylink
A special interest's lobbying activity may go up or down over time,
depending on how much attention the federal government is giving their
issues. Particularly active clients often retain multiple lobbying
firms, each with a team of lobbyists, to press their case for them.
