Subject: What's New In 5G - November 2022
by Angela Y. Kung and Christen B'Anca Glenn
The next-generation of wireless technologies - known as 5G - is
expected to revolutionize business and consumer connectivity, offering
network speeds that are up to 100 times faster than 4G LTE, reducing
latency to nearly zero, and allowing networks to handle 100 times the
number of connected devices, enabling the "Internet of Things."
Leading policymakers - federal regulators and legislators - are making
it a top priority to ensure that the wireless industry has the tools
it needs to maintain U.S. leadership in commercial 5G deployments.
This blog provides monthly updates on FCC actions and Congressional
efforts to win the race to 5G.

Subject: Amdocs accelerates in the Americas
By Scott Bicheno
Telecoms software and services vendor Amdocs has added to strong North
American revenues with a couple of major Latin American deal wins.
The most significant of those wins is probably a strategic
collaboration with Telefonica that involves modernising the BSS and
OSS of its operations in Chile, Peru and Argentina to make them 'cloud
native', as is the fashion. This will enable a wholesale move to the
public cloud, bringing all the benefits, such as agility and
scalability, generally associated with it.

Subject: Interview: Chatting On The AT&T Boat At TwitchCon
By William B
While we were at TwtichCon 2022, we decided to hang out and chat with
Disguised Toast on the Stream Boat. For its 5G wireless capabilities,
the company held numerous events on their special Stream Boat during
the events which the company would take people into the San Diego Bay
and broadcast live from the edge of the water. One of these streams
featured Disguised Toast as he [was] chatting for a few hours with his
friends Sydeon and Scarra - with TwitchCon events and more happening
in the background. We got a chance to chat with the drog while he was
on the boat to discuss the event and the company's work with AT&T.

Fascination-of-the-abtuse department
I'm sure some of my readers remember the "CB" craze of the seventies,
and how those in the know made up their own patois to demonstrate that
they were part of the CB cognoscenti.
It seems there is a new generation of "insiders" now generating
language, although I'm unable to find a translation guide.
