Subject: NTIA Gives Green Light To FCC To Expand Commercial Use Of
Federal Mid-Band Spectrum
By byJennifer L. Richter, Douglas I. Brandon, Shea Boyd, and Virginia D. Hiner
Last week, the National Telecommunications and Information
Administration (NTIA) took two important steps toward making more
mid-band spectrum available for 5G commercial use. In two separate
letters, concerning the3450-3550 MHz band ("3.45 GHz Band") and
the5850-5925 MHz band ("5.9 GHz Band"), NTIA outlined steps by which
the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) could expand commercial
use of these frequency bands, while accommodating reduced federal use.

Subject: OT: A Whistleblower Says Facebook Ignored Global Political
Manipulation
Facebook ignored or was slow to act on evidence that fake accounts on
its platform have been undermining elections and political affairs
around the world, according to an explosive memo sent by a recently
fired Facebook employee and obtained by BuzzFeed News.
The 6,600-word memo, written by former Facebook data scientist Sophie
Zhang, is filled with concrete examples of heads of government and
political parties in Azerbaijan and Honduras using fake accounts or
misrepresenting themselves to sway public opinion. In countries
including India, Ukraine, Spain, Brazil, Bolivia, and Ecuador, she
found evidence of coordinated campaigns of varying sizes to boost or
hinder political candidates or outcomes, though she did not always
conclude who was behind them...
"I have personally made decisions that affected national presidents
without oversight, and taken action to enforce against so many
prominent politicians globally that I've lost count," she wrote...

Subject: History - power generation and distribution
With the discussions on power reliability, the following old
advertisements may be of interest. Various players in the electric
power industry used to take out full page color ads in major magazines
to tout their products. Bold pictures of generators, transformers,
and distribution networks. Those ads weren't cheap.
Here are some samples:
The Allis-Chalmers company made heavy equipment for distribution and
engineering:

General Electric Co also made power systems
