Subject: Update: Pennsylvania Order Mandates Telework, But To What
Extent?
by James A. Holt and Marguerite Goglia
This is an update to our July 17, 2020 article(1) addressing the July
15, 2020 orders issued by Governor Wolf(2) and the Pennsylvania
Department of Health(3) directing "mitigation measures" in response to
a reported rise in COVID-19 cases in Pennsylvania.
As explained in that prior article, both orders included the following
mandate requiring telework: "Unless not possible, all business are
required to conduct their operations in whole or in part remotely
through individual teleworking of their employees[.]"

Subject: NY: Opinion: After Isaias, we've had it with poor storm
outage response from utilities
By Shelley B. Mayer
Six years ago, in 2014, while serving in the state Assembly, I
testified "Sandy made clear that our electricity infrastructure,
staffing and system of accountability is simply ill-prepared to
respond to these increasingly common and powerful storms that result
in outages, downed lines, and damage to infrastructure." Six years
later, I'm sorry to report that little has changed. Now, as the state
Senator representing communities from Yonkers to Bedford, Rye to
Tuckahoe, these failures of our electricity infrastructure are
compounded by the failures of our other essential providers -
telephone and internet service companies.

Subject: The Need to Be "Information Lean" After COVID-19
By Randolph A. Kahn
Many things will never be the same after the COVID-19 affliction. More
and more employees will spend less and less time at an office. As more
employees work remotely, they will use more technologies to connect and
collaborate, and they will store more company information in the Cloud
and on various home devices with a range of setups and vulnerabilities.
Bad actors, cyberthieves, and hackers will undoubtedly have greater luck
exploiting the resulting chinks in the information security armor.
