AT&T  is pulling its usual TV and social ads for its mobile business on
Dec. 24 and Christmas Day.

Instead, the telecommunications company will air just one,
exclusive-to-Christmas ad that is a little more sensitive to parents'
rancor toward texting during the holidays.

In the ad, a young girl is seen ignoring her family in favor of her
phone while they decorate the house, cut down a tree and spend time
together. But in the end, the girl's gift to her father comes with a
voice-over: "This season, give the present of being present."

Did you get overcharged by Sprint or Verizon for subscription services
that you never signed up for and never used? If so then you should know
that you have only a week left to reclaim the money that's rightfully
yours. If you've been hit with "cramming" fees by Verizon and Sprint,
the deadline to get your money back is coming up on December 31st. After
that, you'll lose the opportunity to make a claim for refunds.

Analyst: AT&T's postpaid phone losses to widen to 1.6M in 2016 as
bundling strategy faces challenges

AT&T's plans to leverage the DirecTV acquisition will be tested in
multiple ways

AT&T's (NYSE:T) plan to capitalize on its acquisition of DirecTV through
a mobile video service and other integrated offerings may be more
challenging than it appears, according to Walter Piecyk of BTIG Research.

In a research note to investors, Piecyk recognized clear opportunities
for AT&T to leverage its new asset: DirecTV has 15 million customers who
don't use AT&T for wireless services and 3 million who have access to
U-verse but use another ISP. And AT&T's newfound status as the largest
pay TV provider in the U.S. should provide leverage for the carrier to
negotiate the best prices for content, particularly for OTT and mobile
rights.

Verizon transaction

In this series, we'll look at some points discussed by Frontier
Communications at the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference.
The telecom company's executive vice president and chief financial
officer, John M. Jureller, participated in this event on December 7,
2015. During the event, Jureller highlighted the opportunities for the
telecom company within the significantly penetrated wireline assets in
the Verizon transaction. Note that these assets of Verizon are in the
states of California, Florida, and Texas. According to both Frontier and
Verizon, this ~$10.5 billion deal is expected to be completed in 1Q16.

Verizon, longtime enemy of net neutrality, may soon exempt its video app
from data caps

Verizon has spent a tremendous amount of money and other resources over
the years lobbying against net neutrality. It should be no surprise then
that the carrier will reportedly soon follow the lead of rivals T-Mobile
and Comcast, which have recently begun casting the spirit and letter of
net neutrality laws aside in launching programs that give preferential
treatment to some Web services by allowing them to stream music and
videos that do not count against users' data caps.

T-Mobile does it with "Binge On," Comcast does it with its own video
service "Stream TV," and now it looks like Verizon will soon do it with
its Go90 video app and any other service partners willing to cough up
some cash.
