Subject: Histopry 1960 railroad wayside telephone system
Waystation phones on railroads are located at considerable
distances. It was not possible to provide fully automatic
telephone service to them. In 1960, the Automatic Electric Co.
developed a system to reach remote stations without an
intermediate operator.
It's described in the following article from Railway
Signaling Communications, 1960.

for relays and communications products such as carrier,
microwave, radio, and cable.

Equifax promised up to $125 for the hack. Now, the FTC says you'll get
"nowhere near" that amount.
As one victim of the hack wrote: "This is unacceptable. The court and
Equifax knew there were 147 million claimants. Why offer $125 per claim and
set aside only $31 million? Did someone forget to do the math?"
