Subject: Verizon promises 5G services to TracFone customers if FCC
approves MVNO's acquisition
By Cosmin Vasile
Verizon is looking to acquire TracFone, an MVNO that predominantly
uses the Big Red's LTE network, but the FCC (Federal Communications
Commission) has yet to greenlight the acquisition. There are a few
aspects of the deal that the FCC is still looking into, so Verizon and
TracFone CEOs decided to quell some of the fears that the FCC
expressed since the beginning of the year.
Verizon CEO of the Consumer Group Ronan Dunne and TracFone CEO Eduardo
Diaz Corona made some interesting comments during a teleconference
with Acting FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel (via FierceWireless).

Subject: The MOA Between the FAA and Skyward, A Verizon Company
Brings Cellular-Connectivity for Drones Back into the Conversation
By Danielle Gagne
When the FAA came out with the remote ID rule back in December of
2020, the industry wasn't sure where they would land regarding a
broadcast versus networked rule. It ultimately went with a
broadcast-only system, but the language even back then suggested that
this was a reflection on the needs of today's market and that future
rules might, and probably should, include networked options. During
that time, Commercial UAV News talked about the merits of broadcast
versus networked remote ID, in which we suggested that the real
solution was more of a both/and rather than an either/or approach as a
necessary step in moving forward with achieving the long-term goals of
the industry.
