Subject: Verizon customers in Southwest Florida experienced
temporary issues overnight
FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Verizon Wireless reportedly experienced
intermittent minor issues between the hours of 3 am and 4:30 am.
The outage caused intermittent issues with data service for some
customers in South West Florida, however they were quickly resolved by
4:30 am. There are no other issues reported at this time in Florida or
along the east coast.

Verizon's human resources department and obtained by the Guardian.
In documents given to managers and employees the US's largest wireless
provider encourages its own staff to use anti-union rhetoric and
disparages previous unionization efforts within the company.

Subject: CenturyLink's Post-Holiday Outage: Timeline and Impact

CenturyLink customers received an unwelcome post-Christmas surprise
when their service went down Dec. 27 and stayed down through Dec. 28.
The lengthy outage resulted in everything from minor inconvenience for
online shoppers, to restaurants and other businesses having to operate
without internet, and spotty 911 service that created anxiety for
those in need of help. Even Verizon was impacted. However, the outage
reportedly didn't result in any life-threatening incidents.
