Subject: DT Angles for Bigger T-Mobile US Bite
Dan Meyer | Executive Editor - August 12, 2022
DT CEO Timotheus Hottges noted during the carrier's most recent
earnings call that “we want to achieve a clear 51% shareholding in the
U.S.” He added that DT had “raised our stake in T-Mobile US to
48.4%. It brings us clear site to our goal of owning the majority in
the U.S.”
DT controlled 62% of T-Mobile US prior to its Sprint acquisition that
closed on 2020. The deal watered down DT's control to around 42%, with
former Sprint owner SoftBank controlling a 27% stake. (The rest was
floating in the stock market.)

Subject: [Vodafone Germany] cable antenna sockets without radio port
According to this German article
https://www.golem.de/news/kabelnetz-vodafone-setzt-neuartige-antennendosen-ein-2208-167649.html,
the German cable network operator Vodafone will install new cable TV
sockets without a radio port.
Very old sockets only have 2 Belling-Lee ports (one male and one
female) for TV and radio. Sockets in some new installations will get
this type of socket. Only a male Belling-Lee port and an F-port for the
cable modem is available.
The VHF-FM radio service (analog radio 87.5-108 MHz) is already
switched off in most cable circuits and will be used for data
transmissions.

Under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (Section 60104(c)),
by the middle of August 2022 (270 days after the November 15th date of
enactment), the FCC is required to issue a report to the Congress on
the Future of the Universal Service Fund. The FCC initiated an inquiry
on December 2021 to collect comments from interested parties (WC
Docket No. 21-476), which were received in January 2022. Most
recently, as the FCC works on finalizing the report, interested
parties have been meeting with the FCC Commissioners and staff.
