EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) - A spokesperson with Verizon said service has
been restored to the Evansville area after an outage Saturday.
Verizon sent Eyewitness News a statement saying, "Earlier today, our
primary fiber vendor experienced two separate fiber cuts to their
primary and backup network that disrupted service to some of our cell
sites in the Evansville, Indiana, area. The fiber has since been fixed

Subject: County Likely to Extend Agreement with Verizon for FiOS
Service
By Jo DeVoe
Tomorrow (Saturday), the County Board is slated to extend an agreement
it has with Verizon so the company can continue providing its fiber
optic-based TV and internet service in Arlington.
The current franchise agreement with Verizon -- called a Certificate
of Public Convenience and Necessity -- expires on Tuesday, June
22. According to the county, the pandemic derailed its efforts to
negotiate a new agreement with Verizon and this one-year extension
would maintain Verizon's services through that renegotiating process.

Subject: Please ID some images I found
Thanks for reading this.
During work on The Telecom Digest disk backups, I came across some
unidentified images. I've put them on the Digest's Beta-testing site,
and I'd appreciate your help to identify the people and things that
are in the pictures.
The images are at
http://telecomdigest.net/Images/. Some of the
images will be familiar; for example, the picture of a old 300 set
that's on the Telecom Digest web site.
If you know the people that are in the pictures, please tell me their
names and provide contact info, or ask them to contact me directly.
For the other images, I just need to know what the copyright status
is, so if you know where/when the images were copyrighted, please pass
that along.
Thank you.
Bill
