Subject: Canada: Disciplining Employees For Off-Duty Social Media
Use: When Is It Appropriate?
By Isabelle Keeler
When is it appropriate for an employer to discipline an employee for
their activity on social media? This is a question that employers
often struggle with, due to the fact that it raises complex and
nuanced issues, such as the divide between a person's private life and
their employment responsibilities, and the extent to which an employer
can restrict an employee's right to express their personal ideas and
viewpoints.

Subject: 14 individuals searched in alleged cellphone scam at AT&T
store in Weirton, WV
WEIRTON, WV - Fourteen individuals were stopped, and searched against
the side wall of the Weirton AT&T store along 3 Springs Drive after a
resident noticed two cars packed with individuals, and the plates
being from Florida and Michigan.
According to the viewer, who did not wish to be identified, this is
the second time this week more than a dozen individuals from out of
town sat for hours parked on the side of the building walking back and
forth to the AT&T store.

Subject: It's Official: AT&T's 5GE Is Slower Than Verizon and T-
Mobile's 4G LTE
By Caitlin McGarry
Updated May 26, 2019
A few months ago, I installed an iOS update that changed my iPhone
XS. The cellular connectivity icon to the right of my iPhone's notch
had subtly switched from LTE to 5GE. As an AT&T subscriber, I was
perplexed: Since when did AT&T launch 5G? And did this new logo mean
faster speeds?

Subject: Using a mobile while browsing the shelves may make shoppers
buy more
In-store mobile phone use that is unrelated to shopping may be
associated with an increase in unplanned purchases, according to a
study published in the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science.
Dr. Michael Sciandra at Fairfield University, US and colleagues
investigated the impact of mobile phone use on in-store shopping
behaviour. They found that those who used mobile phones in store for
purposes unrelated to shopping, such as making phone calls, sending
text messages, checking emails or listening to music, were more likely
to make unplanned purchases and forget items they had planned to
buy. The authors observed this effect even when phones were only used
for part of the shopping trip, suggesting that in-store mobile phone
use may consume attentional resources even after the phone is put
away.
