We must fight spam for the same reason we fight crime: not because we are naive enough to believe that we will ever stamp it out, but because we do not want the kind of world that results when no one stands against crime. - Geoffrey Welsh

Subject: Daily Digest Web Page [laf] Message-ID: <20140825173242.GA28089@telecom.csail.mit.edu> I've been working to improve the "look & feel" of the online version of the daily digest. I think I'm about done, but I'd like to get opinions from the readers about how the current version looks. If there are no new suggestions, I'll "lock" the design and make it permanent. Please check out http://telecom.csail.mit.edu/archives/back.issues/recent.single.issues/latest-issue.html -or- http://goo.gl/qJVRTB ... and feedback your suggestions to me at the address above. While you're at it, check out the last few days' online Digest versions, by clicking on the "Telecom Digest Archives" link: there are small variations from day to day that you might want to comment on. Your identity will not be disclosed. Thank you! Bill -- Bill Horne Moderator |

Subject: Verizon Closes another Loophole used to keep Unlimited Data Message-ID: <20140826064629.GA30110@telecom.csail.mit.edu> by Alexander Maxham It was reported earlier this month that Verizon was getting ready to close yet another loophole that let those grandfathered into unlimited data, keep their plan. Basically how it worked was you.d buy a phone, put it on a feature phone line and add a data package. Then you.d activate it on the unlimited data line a week or so later. Then your feature phone line would drop back down to the price it was on before, usually $9.99. However, according to Droid Life, as of yesterday, that loophole has been closed, unfortunately.
