Subject: Why after years is Century Link not upgrading the
connection speeds?
I just don't understand how consumer gigabit speeds (Which I have yet
to be on and can not wait when I am) are becoming more and more
prevalent but this one area is still on DSL and in my opinion grossly
overcharging for a 1mb connection.

Subject: OR: Cell Tower Wars … Continued
A second wave of activists protest 5G cell towers in Bend; cite
studies of alarming health risks.
BY Laurel Brauns
Last fall, a group of parents and kids from Elk Meadow Elementary
School stormed Bend City Hall for weeks, demanding the City stop
Verizon Wireless from building a cell tower next to the school.
Verizon built the tower anyway, and Bend City Council said cell tower
infrastructure is under federal jurisdiction, so there's not much it
can do.

Now, a new group of Bend activists want to ban 5G cell towers
altogether. They've written nearly 100 letters to the City Council,
and this week, they plan to blanket the town with posters and fliers
touting what they say are the dangers of this new technology.

Minnesota is now using contact tracing to track protestors, as
demonstrations escalate.
In some cities like Minneapolis, though, officials are starting to
turn to a familiar tool to investigate networks of protestors. The
tool is contact-tracing, and it's a familiar tool in that people have
been hearing about it frequently in recent weeks as an important
component of a comprehensive coronavirus pandemic response. According
to Minnesota Public Safety Commissioner John Harringon, officials
there have been using what they describe, without going into much
detail, as contact-tracing in order to build out a picture of
protestor affiliations - a process that officials in the state say has
led them to conclude that much of the protest activity there is being
fueled by people from outside coming in.
