Subject: Frontier exits bankruptcy, claims it will double fiber-to-
the-home footprint
Frontier plans 3 million new fiber lines - but 8M others would be
stuck on copper.
By Jon Brodkin
Frontier Communications emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Friday,
saying that it plans to double its fiber-to-the-premises footprint by
extending fiber to an additional 3 million homes and businesses.
"Frontier is deploying capital and pursuing an extensive fiber
build-out plan that will accelerate the company's transformation from
a legacy provider of copper-based services to a fiber-based
provider... Under the first phase of the plan, Frontier intends to
invest heavily and pass more than 3 million homes and business
locations, enabling a total of over 6 million homes and businesses
with Gig-plus speeds," the company said in a press release.

Subject: Telehealth's Transformation of Healthcare Will Outlive the
Pandemic, Boost AI Applications
COVID-19 brought record-setting investment to the healthcare industry
in 2020, but this year is shaping up to be even better, reports
McAlinden Research Partners. Demand for telehealth services
skyrocketed during the pandemic, and funding is starting to follow
suit.
Telehealth funding in the first quarter almost doubled from the same
quarter a year ago. Big tech companies such as Verizon, Microsoft and
Amazon are taking notice, striking deals to solidify themselves in the
booming industry. The telehealth market is poised to grow to $560
billion by 2027, and there is no shortage of players trying to claim
their slice of the pie.

Your heard it here first, and I predicted it.
"No shortage of players trying to claim their slice of the pie?" I
guess not: I'd bet that every tech-support house in Mumbai is busy
hiring every doctor within 200 Km to get them online for "telehealth,"
just as fast as they can. Welcome to the new world of "health care,"
where discount medical talent in foreign lands will take the place of
those oh-so-prideful and oh-so-well-paid AMA members here in America.

Subject: AT&T digs into C-band with multiple trials
By Monica Alleven
AT&T has been conducting tests using C-band spectrum since late last
year and recently applied for a license modification with the Federal
Communications Commission (FCC) regarding tests in California,
Michigan and Texas.
AT&T was the second largest bidder in the C-band auction after
Verizon. AT&T plunked down about $27.4 billion, of which $23 billion
comes due this year.
