Subject: TN: A device for every student and teacher is the first
step. Now we need Internet access
By Brandon Bruce
Peanut butter and jelly.
Pencil and paper.
A computer and access to the Internet.
On May 13, the Knox County Schools Board of Education approved the 1:1
Student Device Deployment plan for grades K-12 for the 2020-2021
school year. It means that every teacher and each of the approximately
60,000 students in Knox County Schools will get a tablet or laptop to
use during the upcoming school year.
This is a big and exciting step forward for students and teachers in
our region.

Subject: AT&T tracked its own sales bods using GPS, secretly charged
them $135 a month to do so, lawsuit claims
See, it's not just users getting shafted
By Kieren McCarthy
AT&T tracks its sales reps to make sure they keep to its schedule and
then charges them for doing so, claims one of its "in-home experts"
Daniel Gunther.
Gunther has sued the American telco giant, and hopes to lead a
class-action lawsuit against it in California, where he is based. He
alleges the cellular network uses the GPS in its cars to keep tabs on
sales reps, hassling them if they spend longer than the allocated 45
minutes with a customer, and coming down on them if they are suspected
to be using the car for personal reasons.

Subject: Current and Former CenturyLink Residential and Small
Business Customers May Be Eligible for a Payment from a Settlement
A FEDERAL COURT AUTHORIZED THIS NOTICE. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION
FROM A LAWYER. A settlement ("Settlement") has been proposed in a
class action involving customers who had an account for local or long
distance telephone, internet, or television services with a
CenturyLink Operating Company. CenturyLink denies it did anything
wrong and the Court has not decided who is right.
If you are a member of the Class and claim you were overcharged and
not reimbursed by CenturyLink, you are eligible to make a claim for
$30 from the Settlement (subject to a pro rata adjustment up or down
depending on how many valid claims are filed), or more (depending on
whether you choose to provide additional explanation and documentation
with your claim).
